For the second consecutive year, the East All-Stars used a day two rally to finish off a sweep of the West All-Stars in the SCHEELS Softball All-Star Series.

The East plated 10 unanswered runs after falling behind 5-0 early to ultimately win 10-6 a day after winning 2-1 in 11 innings.

Felicity Blair (Bismarck) launched two run home runs in both the first and second inning to give the West the early lead at Fort Lincoln Field in Mandan. Sydney Soulis (Jamestown) also drove in a run with a second inning single to make it 5-0 early.

The East started to chip away with a single run in the top of the fourth. Kacee White (Valley City) picked up her first of three hits to bring home Raegan Linster (Fargo Davies) and make it a 5-1 game.

An offensive explosion took place in the top of the fifth for the East All-Stars. They scored five runs on six hits in the frame. Allison Martinson (Grafton) and White delivered run producing doubles in the inning. Shay Weber drove home a run on a sacrifice fly in the sixth to put the East up 7-5 heading into the seventh inning.

White, Laura Spurgeon (Hillsboro-Central Valley) and Madison Sweep (Central Cass) all reached base and came around to score in the top of the seventh inning to add insurance and make it a 10-5 game. Theresa Klinnert, one of the heroes from game one, delivered a clutch double with the bases loaded to give the East that cushion.

Rylie Oen (Des Lacs-Burlington/Lewis & Clark) tripled home Whitney Thomas (Bismarck Legacy) in the bottom of the seventh to cap the scoring.

Taiylor Ellingson (Grand Forks Central) picked up the win in the circle with two scoreless innings the day after her high school teammate Cassidy Kuntz won game one with a walkoff single. Klinnert came in and threw three strong innings to pick up a save and become the first player to get a win and a save in the series. Mikka Haugeberg (Watford City) started in the circle for the West. Amber Sickler (Dickinson) and Marisa Andrysiak (Minot) each tossed two innings.
