The East posted the first shutout in event history with a 5-0 win in game one. The West evened the series with a 16-13 win in game two. The combined 29 runs was the most in a game in event history.

It was a historic day in many ways on Monday night in Grand Forks for the 9th annual SCHEELS Softball All-Star Series. The event was held in Grand Forks for the first time, and at a Division I facility for the first time.

The weather was about what you would expect for spring softball in North Dakota. Wind, rain and temperatures in the mid-50s. That didn't stop the 2025 class of all-stars from putting on a historic show.

Presley Tveter (West Fargo Sheyenne) and Aubrey Hensrud (Grand Forks Central) combined to throw a four-hit shutout in game one, marking the first shutout in 20 games across the history of the event. The bats woke up in game two with the West take the lead late and holding on to win 16-13. The combined 29 runs was the most in a single game in event history.

Game One: East All-Stars 5, West All-Stars 0

Tveter set the tone in the circle in game one for the East All-Stars. She tossed four innings, allowing just one hit while striking out five. Hensrud, the hometown kid, came on in relief and allowed just three hits in picking up the save. The East defense was stout and they did enough with their bats to pick up just their second win in the post-COVID era.

Olivia Kalbus (Fargo North) was hit by a pitch to open the bottom of the first and eventually came around to score on a wild pitch for what proved to be the game-winning run. She was the offensive catalyst in the game for the East with two runs scored, a hit, a walk and a run batted in.

Game Two: West All-Stars 16, East All-Stars 13

Game two had a little bit of everything. The teams combined for a record high 29 runs on 33 hits and seven total errors.

Moos went 5-for-6 at the plate with five singles, three runs batted in and one run scored. Moos is the first player in event history to record five hits in one game. Sydnee Bartsch (Minot) added a pair of hits and three runs batted in, while Cadey Shipman (Minot North), Kate LeMoine (Bismarck Legacy), Raegan Terrel (Minot), and Mackenna Medina (Dickinson) all added two hits in the game. Bartsch finished the game a home run shy of the cycle.

Kailee Kittelson (Hillsboro-Central Valley) led the offensive attack for the East with four hits, two runs scored and two runs driven in. Leah Hoffman (Fargo North) and Peyton Quam (Hillsboro-Central Valley) both added a pair of hits for the east.
