These power rankings are a reflection of what has happened so far this season with a touch of the eye test added in. These are meant to be taken as a fun talking point for softball across the state.
Tim's statewide power rankings will be released each Thursday, in advance of the weekly coaches polls. Records are based on what is reflected on the state website, WDA website and EDC website.
The Majettes continue to pass every test. They beat Grand Forks Red River 14-0 and West Fargo Sheyenne 5-2 before clipping May-Port-CG in a battle of the top teams in both classes. Minot is currently riding a 10 game winning streak, and closes the regular season with a doubleheader against an upstart Mandan team.

It will be fun to see Dickinson take on Minot again, potentially, in the postseason. The Midgets have a quartet of blemishes with losses to Williston, Minot, Beulah and Jamestown. They have also beaten all of those teams. Dickinson rounds out the regular season with doubleheaders against Bismarck Legacy and Bismarck High, two worthy opponents.

While the Patriots are no longer undefeated, they proved their worth in their two losses. They took care of Fargo Shanley and a quality Des Lacs-Burlington/Lewis & Clark team at Midseason Madness before dropping a great battle with Minot, 2-1, to round out the weekend. May-Port-CG then travelled to Central Cass and dropped a 9-8 decision to a surging Squirrels team. In the game, MPCG did not pitch their No. 1 pitcher. The Patriots round out the regular season at Hillsboro-Central Valley.
Last week: 3
As expected, the West Fargo Packers seem to be coming alive late in the season. In a single game setting, they are a threat to beat anyone. They picked up an impressive win over Central Cass recently and also took care of a Fargo North team that seems to be coming together late in the season. The Packers finish up the regular season with a doubleheader against Jamestown. The outcome of those games will tell us more about both clubs.
Last week: 6
Jamestown is yet another club that seems to be peaking at the right time. Jamestown has recent splits with a very good Bismarck team, a great Dickinson team and a win over a strong Kindred-Richland club. Jamestown has some blemishes on the record but in a one game setting have the ability to beat anyone in the state. They close out the regular season with a doubleheader against West Fargo.

Much like with West Fargo, it is no surprise that Central Cass is coming together late in the season. The squirrels have won 12 of their last 14 games with the losses coming to West Fargo and Thompson. The wins have been impressive. They have beat a very good Kindred-Richland team twice during the run. At Midseason Madness they downed No. 9 Velva-Drake/Anamoose and No. 3 Renville County. Most recently, they topped No. 1 May-Port-CG in a 9-8 affair. Central Cass has ended their regular season.

The Vikings were the first team to knock off Renville County this season in a great game at the Midseason Madness. They followed that up with a ranked with over Velva-Drake/Anamoose. Kindred-Richland has two recent run-rule victories over Class A opponents. Their losses are close as of recent including a 9-6 loss to Jamestown on the road, a 4-1, 10-inning loss to Central Cass, a 4-3 loss at Thompson and a 2-1 loss to Central Cass. Kindred-Richland has to be one of the favorite in Class B at this point in the season. Their regular season has come to an end.

Bismarck has followed up a three game losing streak with a three game winning streak. Right before that six game stretch, the Demons swept a very good Williston team. Then, they dropped two hard fought games with Minot before splitting with Jamestown and then sweeping Bismarck Century. They round out the regular season with a doubleheader against Dickinson.
Last week: 10
Grand Forks Red River won the EDC regular season title by sweeping the competition thus far. However, they mostly struggled in their showcase games at Midseason Madness. The RoughRiders dropped a 14-0 decision to Minot and a 21-20 decision to Mandan. They did pickup a win over Beulah in the tournament. Red River has dominated the EDC, but is just 4-3-1 against competition outside of the conference.
Last week: 2
Only one team in all of Class B has more wins than Bottineau. The Stars had an impressive showing at Midseason Madness, topping Hillsboro-Central Valley, Thompson and Grafton. They head into their final regular season game against Bishop Ryan on a six-game winning streak. Their losses this season are a one-run loss to Des Lacs-Burlington/Lewis & Clark and a two-run loss to Renville County.
