The SCHEELS Softball All-Star Series presented by TNT Concrete is set to be played in Bismarck at the Sanford Sports Complex on June 7 (doubleheader) and at Kost Field in Casselton on June 8. There will also be a skills competition in Casselton. This is our first trip to a Class B complex for the all-star series.
Twenty-six incredibly deserving senior athletes are set to participate in an East vs. West battle with Class A and B athletes filling both rosters.
Potential senior all-stars are nominated by their high school coaches and the nominees are voted on by all coaches in a given region. North Dakota Softball All Stars tabulates the votes and takes over the process at that time, notifying the selected student-athletes, then planning for and conducting the event. All selected student-athletes must be in good standing with the NDHSAA, their school and their team.
Aubree Lindstrom of Central Cass becomes the nine Squirrel selected to the all-star series since its inception in 2017. That total is more than any other team. Dickinson, Bismarck, Bishop Ryan and Shanley all have had eight players selected in five years of the event.
There were no games played in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but all-stars were still selected through the same process and honored in different ways off the field. In total, 142 student-athletes have been named SCHEELS Softball All-Stars in the five year history of the event.
Coaches for the 2021 SCHEELS Softball All-Star Series are still being solidified and will be announced at a later date.
Neither North Dakota Softball All Stars nor the SCHEELS Softball All-Star Series are directly connected to the NDHSAA or NDHSCA.
