Regular Season Coaches Poll #2 was voted on by high school softball coaches throughout the state of North Dakota, then tabulated and circulated by North Dakota Softball All Stars.
In Class A, Dickinson dropped a 3-1 game to No. 1 Class B Central Cass at the Midseason Madness, but maintained their top ranking as they are otherwise unblemished. Bismarck had a monster weekend with two wins at the Midseason Madness followed by two wins at West Fargo. Bismarck's 3 spot jump is the biggest of the week in Class A. Grand Forks Central jumps into the top 10 at No. 9 thanks to wins over Fargo Davies, Grand Forks Red River and Williston last week.
Six WDA teams and four EDC teams are represented in the top 10 this week.
In Class B, Central Cass went 3-0 at the Midseason Madness, including a 3-1 win over Class A's top team Dickinson to keep the perfect season alive. Thompson jumped from No. 2 to No. 4 as they kept their undefeated season in tact as well. Both teams beat Des Lacs-Burlington/Lewis & Clark at the Midseason Madness. The Lakers beat Kindred-Richland. The Vikings lost to Northern Cass earlier in the week and Red River on Saturday as well. All that resulted in some jockeying of position in the top 5. Northern Cass is the lone newcomer to the poll this week. They beat Kindred-Richland and swept the Hankinson Co-op before losing three one-run games at the Midseason Madness.
The top 10 consists of five teams from the East and five from the West. Sub-Regions 1 and 4 both have four teams ranked this week while Sub-Regions 2 and 3 have one each.
