What do you like the most about the game of softball?
I like being with my teammates and friends and just playing the game the most.

What do you think is your greatest strength in the sport of softball?
My greatest strengths would be my work ethic, fielding the ball, and my quickness around the bases.

Any favorite moment you used your defense or pitching to help your team win?
My favorite moment when I used my defense would be catching the pop-fly that sent our team to state.

What do you like the most about your head coach?
Our coach is very passionate about the game and pushes us to work hard and become better players.

Who is your softball role model?
My softball role models are Tracy McGillis and my older sister Kari because they have taught me a lot about the game.

What is your favorite high school softball moment or game so far?
My favorite high school softball moment is catching the last out to secure the win that sent our team to state my freshman year.

Are there any teams you look forward to playing next year? If so, why? 
I look forward to playing everyone in our region, but I look forward to Thompson the most because it is always a very competitive game.

What are your expectations for the upcoming season?
My expectations for the upcoming season are to improve as a team, make it to regionals and hopefully state.

Do you play on any summer and/or travel teams? If so, which one(s)?
I played on the Cass-Traill Blazers traveling team for one summer. I also have played on our own May-Port summer team each summer.

Do you have a favorite pre-game or post-game meal?
My favorite post-game meal is my dad’s fried egg sandwiches.

Do you have any softball superstitions?
I do the same routine every time I am on deck to bat and walking up to bat. Also, I always step in to the box with my left foot first.

Who is the funniest teammate you have?
Kinsey Parker.

What is the coolest thing about your town?          
It is a small, close-knit community.

What do you like the most about the game of softball?
I love the mentality. Softball isn’t as much of a physical sport as other high school sports. It takes a strong and positive mentality.

What do you think is your greatest strength in the sport of softball?
I think that two-strike hitting is one of my greatest strengths.

Any favorite moment you used your bat to help your team win?
I laid down a sacrifice bunt to ten-run rule a team at the bottom of the fifth inning.

Any favorite moment you used your defense or pitching to help your team win?
In my first year of softball, we went down to Enderlin for a round robin and the second game we played there was a girl on third and the batter hit a line drive at my face and I caught it and tagged the girl out at third.

What do you like the most about your head coach?
He has so much love for the game and he loves sharing all of his knowledge to help us get better.

Tracy McGillis

What is your favorite high school softball moment or game so far?
When Hannah Ust caught the fly ball during regionals to take us to state.

Are there any teams you look forward to playing next year? If so, why? 
I look forward to playing Hillsboro-Central Valley and Thompson because those are usually two of the highest in our region and they are very good competition.

What are your expectations for the upcoming season?
My expectations are to get better everyday, work hard, be a leader on the team, and have a fun season.

Do you play on any summer and/or travel teams? If so, which one(s)?
Yes, I play on the Patriots and the Cass-Traill Blazers summer softball teams.

Do you have a favorite pre-game or post-game meal?
My favorite pre-game meal is Subway.

Do you have any softball superstitions?
My only superstition is when I’m up to bat. Everything has to be the same.

What is or would be your walk-up song?
Beat It by Michael Jackson

Who is the funniest teammate you have?
Ellie Bergstrom.

What is the coolest thing about your town?          
Our roads were designed to be aligned with the railroad tracks, so they are diagonal to the highway.
