What do you like the most about the game of softball?
The camaraderie between the team, and the intensity that’s involved in each play.

What do you think is your greatest strength in the sport of softball?
My positive attitude, work ethic, and my defense.

Any favorite moment you used your bat to help your team win?
Against Ray, I had hit two doubles and triple to help us win.

Any favorite moment you used your defense or pitching to help your team win?
Against Beulah, as the throw made it to me from our shortstop, I moved in to apply the tag and stopped the girl dead in her tracks, and prevented the go-ahead run from scoring, and then went on to win in walk-off fashion the next half inning.

Who is your softball role model?
The class of 2015 senior girls from our team. I was a 7th grader at the time, and looked up to that class so much on the field.

What do you like the most about your head coach?
He really knows how to get in my head in the right way that helps to make me even more competitive and pushes me more and more each day.

What is your favorite high school softball moment or game so far?
Last year, in a game against Washburn, our shortstop Ellie made the play at home, as the runner was trying to steal, the throw took me right in front of her, and she basically got stonewalled and fell. As she fell, I dropped the ball and she proceeded to sort of cradle the ball. I eventually was able to grab it and tag her, and also make the play at third for a double play.

Are there any teams you look forward to playing next year? If so, why?
I’m definitely looking forward to playing Bishop Ryan, because they have a really strong program, and ever since they’ve moved down, we haven’t been able to secure the win against them.

What are your expectations for the upcoming season?
To be able to get to the second day of regionals and give ourselves a shot at state this year.

Are you on any travel teams? If so, which one(s)?
I played for the Minot Storm last summer.

Do you have a favorite pre-game or post-game meal?
Pre-game: Frozen pickle juice!
Post-game: A cheeseburger with Funyuns on it from concessions, or a Qdoba burrito.

Do you have any softball superstitions?
I always have to be the one to send the first game day text to the team group chat, and I absolutely hate when someone walks on the chalk line.

What is or would be your walk up song?
Ima Playa by Tech N9ne

Who is the funniest teammate you have?
I have too many hilarious teammates to really pick one, but our centerfielder Ashtyn Allard is always doing something dumb to make us all laugh, we even call her “Hei Hei,” after the weird chicken from Moana.

What is the coolest thing about your town?
The coolest thing about my town is definitely the rock east of town by the golf course. It’s a huge rock that people paint and repaint it when anything significant happens in our town, whether it be deaths, graduation, tournaments, birthdays, or even when a sports team has a big game.
